Image by @jeff.n.brenner Throughout my years photographing Yellowstone, I’ve accumulated my fair share of bison shots. I couldn’t tell you why, but this image in particular has continued to be my favorite capture of this animal. Most of you know, as much as I love pursuing encounters with predators, the American bison has always captured my attention more than any other species. As a wildlife photographer, even I find it ironic that the animal that fascinates me the most is the one most commonly found in the park. Of course, I admire the resilience they exhibit through every season, but it’s what they symbolize that stands out to me the most. In a place where nature is rugged and the culture is full of grit, I have always felt that these animals embody the true essence of the American West.
