📣 If you’re using light hold gels, or no gel at all, you can expect wet frizz. 📣 Wet frizz usually dries frizzy, which is great if you’re going for volume and fluffy curls. However, if you’re looking to tame frizz, use a gel or a mousse that dries with a cast. The cast is that “crunch” you get when using gel or mousse, and you should not be afraid of it because it can be scrunched out once dry! A good quality, strong hold gel should not result in frizz after you scrunch out the crunch. If it does, it’s not the right gel for you. Most curl creams are just for moisture or curl clumps, not for taming frizz. For my recommendations on gels, visit the 🔗 in my profile for my Amazon page. Also listed some in my stories. Here are some ingredients to look for when you’re shopping for a gel to know if it’s going to have hold: • Polyquaternium (multiple, ideally) • PVP or PVA • PVP/VA Copolymer • Polyacrylate-2 Crosspolymer It’s important to note that many factors can cause you to not get a cast even when using a strong hold gel. The most common culprit is using too much water when styling which just dilutes the gel. (Full video on this topic on my YT channel).
