Despite the 15 years that have passed, June 10, 2010, is a day that will forever be burned into my memory and my soul. For good reason as Cpl. Gavin Brummund was one of my senior Marines, he was a mentor, and someone who truly cared about those he lead into harms way. That day haunts all of us who called Lima 1 and PBHE home. I will never forget the echo of that blast, the chaotic radio traffic, our friends who did their best to keep you alive, the return of your gear, and most importantly the strength and courage your departure provided to those of us who had to leave the wire in the days and weeks that followed seeking revenge and retaliation.
