PICARD COSTUME ARTISANS SPOTLIGHT Sharon McGunigle - Cutter/Tailor @venusdemille Picard S2 had the great advantage of expanding our S1 Workroom to create even more original designs in house, all in one place. The teams that assembled each day in that space became a family of creativity and the heartbeat of our department. Leading her team was the endearingly eccentric powerhouse, Sharon McGunigle! Most Cutters lean into draping for the female form or tailoring for the male form but Sharon has incredible strength in both areas and man does that show in her glorious creation of Annika Hansen's Presidential uniform! Gorgeous feminine lines, perfectly placed, with tailoring techniques that still make me verklempt - this costume exemplifies Sharons amazing abilities in structure and flow. A study in the impact of the perfect gray tones dyed by @dye_namic_t and painted by @ivorypix - @venusdemille @rtalirez and @elizabethestervig with hero support by @syzygy_designs knocked it right out of the Sci-Fi park! Sharon took the lead on so many gorgeous costumes in S2, creating all of @jerilryan ‘s costumes throughout the season including Seven's leather jacket and her hollywood glamour gown at the gala. Team Sharon also built costumes for Guinan @whoopigoldberg , Jurati's lab look and the parade of red gowns for @msalisonpill , Raffi's @realmichellehurd alt timeline looks and the champagne dream gala look, Young Guinan's @itoaghayere "cargomono" jacket, Soong's @brentjspiner ‘s impeccable suiting, Laris/Tallin's @ladymissbrady vineyard looks and suiting... it goes on and on! I remain steadfastly in awe of their stamina, talent and grace. Our Picard Costume Department was comprised of over thirty artists and it was my distinct honor to share the creative stage with Sharon McGunigle.
