Let me be inherently clear, if you can still sit back in 2020 and watch what is going on right now {with the knowledge of what has been going on in this country since day one} and come to the conclusion that these modern day lynchings perpetrated by “police” are some how justifiable, unfollow me. I am in no mood to be associated with people who are so fickle and small minded. A lot of you are first in line to buy concert tickets to see rappers who’s music/vibe resonates with you or follow football games and basketball games and fantasize about meeting athletes, yet when they decide to speak out for those who don’t have a platform or voice you feel disrespected and turn a blind eye. What is disrespectful is you justifying your use of the n word as well as appropriating and leeching off of ‘the culture’ when it’s convenient for you. If you consider yourself to be “neutral” or if you “don’t like to get political” understand that now is not the time to be on the fence about human rights violations. I do not care if I lose “friends” because quite honestly you are the problem, turning a blind eye to injustice makes you an accessory to injustice. I have been and will always continue to be an advocate for the black lives matter movement. Regardless of the momentary discomfort or burned bridges that have resulted from spreading awareness. Black Lives Matter. You are all grown, you all have access to the internet which means you have zero excuse to still be uneducated. If you consider yourself to be an ally, I need you to see me and hear me. I need you to stand up for what you know is right. Speak up and sign the petitions, donate to the foundations, attend the protests, make calls, share peoples stories and register to vote. Finally before you decide to post that picture of you and your friends hanging out and having a good time, remember that people are literally dying, cities are burning and communities are hurting. So stop being selfish and read the room no one cares about your brunch with the gals or afternoon at the lake with the boys when there is blood flooding the streets of this country.
