You dont need much to build this octagon fire pit. You’ll need an old tire rim, spray paint, eight 3 foot 2 x 4s each cut at 67.5 degrees, a shovel, a rake and some pea stone / pebbles. Add in a log for a table and some sliced log pieces for alittle something extra. Once you have your 2x4’s cut, place them in an octagon shape in the spot that you want them in your yard. Spray paint the grass around the two by fours both on the inside and outside of the octagon so you’ll know where you’ll need to dig to place the two by fours. Remove the two by fours from the grass. Dig down 2 inches inside the spray painted lines, this will be where you place your two by fours. Place your 2x4’s in space you just dug. Now dig down 1 inch within the octagon and remove the dirt. Add your old tire rim to the centre of the octagon and then fill the empty space around the tire rim with your pea stone / pebbles. Use a rake to level out the pebbles. If you’re adding in some sliced log pieces, place those down before filling with the pebbles.
