@Nkoranza to the World @ĶŲMĀŚİMĂŇ ŤV🇬🇭 🇳🇬 MY EXPLANATION OR CORRECTION OF ASANTEHENE CLAIMING DEGA/MO AS BELONGING TO HIM. THE DEGA/MO STORY. We knew Asante in 1740 long before the Nkoranza-Asante war of 1893 in which Dega were begged by Nkoranza to help them. Already in 1818 we help Asante in the Gyaaman war with our Teow deity also in 1826 Kantamanto war, 1756 Atakpame war. 1824 Nsamankou war ( first expedition), 1874 Amounfo war ( fourth expedition), 1836 Drobo revolt. Don't place emphasize on the Nkoranza war which ended at Sabule. We were long known as Mo or Dega over 100 years before Nkoranza refuse to pay their indemnity to Asante leading to the war with Asante in which Asante stationed in between Kintampo and Jema to prevent DEGA/MO from helping Nkoranza. The problem with Asantes is that they don't know when a kingdom becomes defunct or seizes to exert it influence on other people. Asantes as a Kingdom seized to be a Kingdom in 1901 at the Yaa ASANTEWAA war when they were totally defeated in 1874 Sir Garnet Worseley expedition and became part of the British Empire in 1901. The Kingdom was disbanded and every state became independent. Techiman, Dormaa created the Bonokyempem in 1935 even after Prempeh I was returned from Seychelles. With the growing Bono unity which appears like people of Bono tribes the Non-Bono states like Dega/Mo and Banda refuses to be part of the Bono tribal hegemon of Bonokyempem and decided to continue to be part of ASANTEMAN even at the time of Nnaa Yaw Dagbie to Nnaa Addae, Nnaa Kwasi Jiga and continued with Nnaa Kooro Dimpoh even after independence. Reasons you can see Banda, Mohene in the gathering but NOT Techiman, Dormaa, Wenchi, Sunyani etc After independence in 1957 Dr. Kwame Nkrumah presented a certificate of urgency for the creation of Brong-Ahafo region in 1958 curved from the White Colonialist created Ashanti region. Asante continue to exert it influence on some tribes and states oblivion that her influence doesn't exist any longer. Any state which was not part of Asante in 1701 Feyaase war but was conquered or persuaded to join later do not become part of Asante after 1901 and finally as a free state in 1957 when the entire country became a REPUBLIC. So Mo which actual and recognize tribal name is DEG as a language and DEGA as a people is not under Asantehene as Ashanti Confederacy is a defunct entity. Each one is back to pre-1701. DEGA STATE or Mo state is not under Asantehene but the Longoro Kooro who is currently KOORO NNAA NDAMKWA III living in Kintampo. Yes, old friend are the best as such Dega/Mo always invited to ASANTEHENE functions in solidarity with the good days or previous relation. It is very common to hear any elderly DEG or Mo person saying "WHEN WE WERE PART OF ASANTE". Yes we were part and no more. We are now part of the REPUBLIC of GHANA under GHANA'S constitution.
