This week on Behind the Views: Julie Héron (@julieheronphotography). Julie has been into photography for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she was always the kid who was taking photos during family events and vacations. Around eight years ago, armed with her Samsung cell phone, Julie moved to Canada and eventually started taking her craft more seriously. Fast forward to 2022, she is a full-time photographer based in Lisbon. . When asked about her approach to shooting on trips, she says, “When I am traveling to a new destination, I am always looking for a specific vibe. Ever since I did my first travel to Italy, I approach my trips the same way — I don’t really prepare exactly where I’m going, it’s mostly instinct. Whether it’s a view from a building, a beautiful sunset, or a clear vision of the moon, I am looking for anything that makes me feel good.” . Julie’s advice for aspiring photographers: “Don’t delete anything until you see them on a bigger screen and avoid looking at too many other social media accounts. They can be inspiring, but at some points, it can be daunting. Also don’t feel discouraged if you don’t find inspiration right away, you can’t force it.” .
