@_been.there_ The Monte Toboggan is one of Madeira's most well-known attractions. The Monte Sledge, a wicker toboggan, was the primary mode of downhill public transportation in Funchal (Madeira's capital city) since the 1850s. On this downhill adventure, two men dressed in white and straw hats will be your chauffeurs. They wear rubber-soled boots that assist them in steering and braking the toboggan, a wicker basket attached to two wooden runners (that glide on greased up rags).
