Beautifully said by a beautiful artist💕 //// READ RP @madmcferrin I didn’t know today is World Mental Health Day. Considering the current state of the world, it should be everyday. Music has always been my medicine, both as a listener and a creator. Writing songs like “Stay Away (From Me)” and “TRY” helped me work through fears and insecurities that oftentimes feel like a trap. But I didn’t just write them for myself. I know so many people who feel that same grip of anxiety, stress and depression, especially in this society. I saw this interview with @gabormatemd on @democracynow that did a great job of touching upon the toll the toxicity of this society has on its citizens. I was incredibly struck by the portion where he spoke about the Lakota nation having such a communal outlook on health that when a member got sick, they would say “thank you,” bc it showed that there was something wrong with the collective that needed to change. Community is so key to positive mental health. Make sure you check up on yours today and always ❤️ And since sometimes the right song is all you need to get through the darkness, I’m bringing back this cover of @radiohead’s “Everything in Its Right Place” I did for @soundsofsaving and @thelovelandfoundation back in 2020. What songs help you get through your dark moments?
