How in the world could I choose a series of photos that could ever depict the life I get to live with Makensy Jo...??? Happy Birthday baby! You hear rumors as a little boy that every little girl dreams of a knight in shining armor, rushing in to save them and swoop them off their feet. Even as a little boy, I began to wonder if I was somebody that had what it takes to do that one day. That if I could be someone that could champion, lead, and rescue a princess. All i knew? I wanted to be. The older I got the more I learned that the process of becoming that man was less about the external skill and strength I thought it required, and more about the growth that’s happening internally...in my heart, my character, my mind, my soul, and my faith. What I’m trying to say is—Everyday Makensy makes me feel like a knight in shining armor, and I don’t know how else to explain that. She is patient with me in the areas I have room to grow. She doubles down on encouraging me to chase my dreams. She trusts me and believes in me. She looks at me in a way that forces me to reflect on how much of a gift it is to have someone to look at you like that. It lights a fire in my spirit to want to provide and work hard, to be a man who is worthy of being looked at like that. For two young kids that met in the most peculiar of ways, I’m so proud of where we stand today. We give access to thousands of people into our love and relationship in the hopes that it inspires somebody out there to know they deserve the same...but we’ve stayed guarded to protect the authenticity of our love. It’s always been about building something special between one another, and never been about what others may see on the outside. No comparison, no consideration of what others think...just us and that’s it. I love you Makensy Jo. You have taught me so much about life, and healed so much of what others hurt in me prior to you. You’re the best part of every day, and I can not ever thank you enough for the ways you not only make me better, but you make the world better. There’s not a castle in the world that’s too big or too tall to scare me away from chasing after you. Happy birthday my princess 😘
