This is about collectivism. 🪙 And maybe it’s a little about about being a mom and all the Free Black work that it takes. 🪙 🪙 To some, these are small coins of little perceived value. Shiiiiiii, these days what can a penny or a dime even get you? 🪙 Folks toss these coins aside. Won’t bend to retrieve a fallen coin. Ignore their presence. Treat them like nothing. A bother. 🪙 I don’t see it that way. 🪙 A secret I know, is that TOGETHER, these coins can accomplish so much. (And dollars too! Sorry for you that you left them folded bills in your laundry offsprings and spouse 🤗 I hate that for you!) 🪙 As I collect these little coins of offering to build this sanctuary for birth, I often think about how with a few small coins here and a few dollars there how @the.birth.sanctuary has come together 🥹 I could’ve never imagined raising enough public concern and money to renovate an entire 1835 two-story colonial home into Alabama’s first proposed midwifery lead and operated free standing birth center. Yet here we are. 🪙 And it’s time to remember collectivism once again. 🪙 !!️The @alabamapublichealth department (aka the Medical Association of the State of Alabama 😏) are proposing regulations that would completely eradicate Birth Sanctuary Gainesville from being able to operate as a midwifery-led free standing birth center. Among many glaring issues is the proposition that OBGYN Medical Doctors are necessary in order to operate. This couldn’t be further from the truth !!️ 🪙 On Monday.
