The flower pattern on our Jacob Lawrence Blazer was taken from the North Nigerian 'Adire' cotton textile, consisting of indigo-dyed squares with a variety of geometric and natural motifs. The prominent Adire pattern Olokun, 'Goddess of the sea' in Yoruba, consists of different iconographies such as fish, birds snakes, leaves and flowers - representing bounty and prosperity. The flower from this cloth acted as our main inspiration and translated onto our AW22 suiting. Here, West African heritage fuses with contemporary design.
