Shade Spotlight: COURAGEOUS I’m starting a series where I feature a shade from the I AM eye palette and share the story behind the name. Each shade in the I AM palette is named after an affirmation. I truly believe that every one of us embodies each name in this palette, even if our mind likes to play tricks and tell us otherwise. 💭 Courage is something I’ve been building on since becoming an adult and since then, life has CONSTANTLY challenged me to stretch my limits. To me, courage is the ability face something that scares the s*** out of me. Whether it's to stand up for myself and my beliefs, or to take an action that takes me WAY out of my comfort zone...like starting a business with zero experience or mentorship. The scariest is always finding the courage to step away from what feels comfortable, even if it will cause pain. I’ve had to let go of relationships that no longer serve my best interest. I've had to pluck up the courage to speak my truth knowing that I may be judged for it. I've made choices that feel right for me (including moving to a new city and starting over). Once I tasked myself with smiling at 3 complete strangers daily and face the rejection if they didn't smile back. It isn’t easy. It never is. But damn, is it ever powerful. I feel more aligned with who I am meant to be. I’m grateful that every time I’ve had to face something hard, I feel the gentle nudge of courage telling me that I can do it. I may not be able to face my fears all the time, but the more I do so, the stronger I become. The rewards are so worth it. No regrets here. I AM COURAGEOUS was a must-have shade name in the I AM palette, and it was fitting to pair it with the deepest violet blue.
