Early last year, @benderblues went down a rabbit hole, the kind that only appears after a painful breakup, and in an expansive stone lined cellar in Tasmania, he captured his sadness, pain, and ultimately catharsis with a delicate and stunning collection of deeply personal songs which he recorded himself using the natural reverb of his space, singing and playing all the instruments. The time is soon approaching to release that collection of songs into the world. It's called "How To Forget", and it's a real doozy, and something I'm really proud to have created. It's sometimes gentle and bittersweet, sometimes grim through gritted teeth, and I'm doing my best to sing honest and true throughout. Today, the first single emerges from the ether to kiss your precious little ears. "Summer Fool" is an ode to those sweet times of naive adoration, of blissful ignorance, before the storm clouds roll in.
