Allure was always forward-thinking, smart, and cool. It is so sad to see what was truly the only print destination for beauty lovers, by absolutely over-the-top, die-hard beauty lovers go away.
There was a really particular visual language of Allure early on that I still associate it with, even after working there and so much had changed. It was dramatic and glossy, but familiar in a way fashion magazines have never been. The archive is incredibly wide in range and, to my knowledge, largely unnoticed by most. The credits read like a Hall Of Fame for modern media. I’m sharing some of my favorite finds over the years from the 90s and 2000s. Every stitch of makeup here feels as new as it did 30 years ago.
Thank you @lindawellsny for our little piece of beauty heaven ❤️
