Introducing @natstrynnaskate as our next wonderful Suregrip Skate Crew member! "Heeello:)! My name is Natalie (she/her) and I’m from San Diego, CA. Growing up I’d go to the roller rink every once in a while for birthdays and such. I bought my first skates while away at college in 2019 after i came across Olivia Wardlow on instagram doing some crazy flips, splits and handstands at the park in skates made of Vans and was like “you can ride skates at the park.. 😮 and.. do....that??” Then started taking it seriously April 2020! I love seeing myself and everyone else progress and I think the work to pay off really keeps me going, bc it really is “practice makes progress/perfect” who woulda thought hahah. and! you get it see it happening in real time (also why I made my insta account so I could document my progress)! Skating has really helped me open up and become more confident in everyday life as a result of forcing myself to go put myself out there in front of strangers in the uncomfortable situation of having no idea what I was doing starting out. And now I love how I can slam on my butt in front of hundreds of people and not be embarrassed about it (shout out to quad cup!). I’ve also met some of my closest friends during these past 2 years and love skating for that, and for everyone else I’ve met along the way, it’s been so fun. I hope just to keep practicing and also to get more consistent with the skills I’ve already learned and just become the best I can be:) Because list of things to learn is never ending and I’m excited for that."
