There’s just something about Aimy. ☀️ if you’ve been following me for a while you’ll maybe recognize @aimyanne. She has been one of my muses for a long time because she has FACE FOR DAYS. ( also she’s an absolute grace of human kindness which I admire in a person!). Today I saw Aimy and we chopped about 6 inches off of her hair and did a @k18hair treatment to restore her beautiful color and dimension because even Virgin hair needs replenishment. We detoxed her hair from any previous product buildup using the peptide prep shampoo which detoxifies the hair of sebum, product build up and copper ( mineral buildup from water.) we then treated her with the molecular repair mask to seal down her hairs cuticle prior to using a shear and razor cut combo to crop and texturize her dense hair. Why is this important? Razor cuts have phenomenal texture benefits and are clutch for customization but get a bad rap for “ creating frizz” and causing styling difficulties down the road. This happens mainly for one of two reasons- 1) the blade isn’t fresh and SHARP enough ( for feather baszers you should be changing the feather razor every single client if not multiple times per client depending on their hair density and texture. Your razor should move through quickly and easily without any kind of dragging or friction. And 2) most commonly - you should not use a razor to modify a haircut with an open hair strand/ cuticle ( from natural wear like UV exposure, styling/ brushing or color treatments ) without enough moisture & lubrication when cutting. We styled her using @amika the conductor styler using horizontal sectioning in a slight bend to create texture without excessive volume to preserve the length and shape of her square Bob which is very flattering/complimentary to her angular face shape.
