I’ll never understand the narrative of needing a break from your own children. Strangers, friends & even people in our family try to imply I need time away from her, but I sincerely love being with her. What I need breaks from is the constant chores, the constant planning, the constant mundane...not her. I’ll do my own mommy things like go to the gym a few times a week, go out for a drink every now and then, go have a spa day — on my own terms, in my own time. Why would I ever take for granted the blessing it is to get to spend every day with her while I can?
