This is about my lane. . And a lot of acronyms from a lot of organizations who know a lot about the subject of midwives😬 . Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) are midwives who specialize, by education and experience, in out-of-hospital pregnancy care, labor and birth in private homes and in freestanding birth centers. . CPMs are credentialed by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) to provide pregnancy care for healthy people experiencing low-risk pregnancies. The CPM credential, issued by NARM, is nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), which is the accrediting arm of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA). NCCA is the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), (formerly known as the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA) whose mission is to promote excellence in competency assurance for practitioners in all occupations and professions. NCAA(ICE) accredits more than 200 professional credentials such as nurse-midwives, nurse anaesthetists, nurse practitioners, and critical care nurses. (Adapted from Push for midwives.org FAQ’s) Certified nurse-midwives (CNM’s) are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) backed by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). To become a CNM, registered nurses must graduate from a master’s or higher-level nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) and pass the national Certified Nurse-Midwife Examination through the American Midwifery Certification Board. (Adapted from the good free Internet, 2022) . Regulating MIDWIVES from working outside of the hospital space in Alabama is sacrilegious, and contrary to any organization, anywhere, ever. . Please call 334-206-5366 and POLITELY voice your concerns to the persons responsible. . #midwivessavelives #pregnancy #cpm #cnm
