Ten years ago today I launched the Pictures of Lily website after a lot of convincing and case-making from @405South and @ReidSpeed. It has been one of the better decisions of my writing career, making me more productive and motivating me to do more. But I come from print magazines and print is still a big part of my life. I had my traumatic “Raving Away the Pain” personal essay, which @Laurence.Schroeder had to excruciatingly extract out of me over weeks, in @FaithFanzine, which I read religiously as a young raver and it was a major honor to have something of mine in the magazine. Thank you @TerryFarley for coming to me with this and giving me the space. I had a ton of stuff in @Variety’s Hitmakers Issue including my piece on @RossGolan and @AndTheWriterIs, Female and Fierce: The Women of @Netflix Music and a bunch of write-ups on the creators, movers and shakers of the biggest hits of 2021. Thanks always to my editor and queen @ShirleyHalperin for her guidance and her unmatched understanding of the music business. And in the 20th Anniversary Issue of @UndertheRadarMag I have a nostalgic piece on @DovesOfficial, the interview for which began with the band’s Andy Williams asking me if I was Pictures of Lily and did I have a podcast, which rocked my whole world. Thank you @Wendy_Mark_Redfern and @Redfern.Wendy for welcoming me into your UTR family 13 years ago, here’s to many happy returns. Finally, I am a finalist in the @LAPressClub National A& E Journalism Awards for my @LAMag article on the @BillieEilish documentary.
