The world is observing the International Human Rights Day under the theme "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for all". A desirable goal, but one that is miles away. All people deserve to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect. Everyone should be able to live their lives the way they want without being oppressed or owned by anyone. Our rights, dignity and equality are under ongoing attack. Increasing conflict, economic instability and inflation due to worldwide shutdowns and political decisions, misinformation, racial injustice and global setbacks in women's and LGBTQI+ rights. People are frustrated and have lost confidence in the inaction and irrelevance of governments and institutions in protecting human rights and our planet. Young people feel they are not being heard... Never take freedom and human rights for granted, don't sit back and just watch. Be active, raise your voice, shine your light. We, the people, us humans, point the way to a brighter tomorrow, no one else!
