Tyler Rollins, a 2017 ATU Recreation and Parks Administration program graduate, spoke to Dr. McMahan’s RP 3013 Inclusive Recreation class regarding an accident he experienced in the Summer of 2015 while participating in a Tough Mudder competition. Tyler suffered a C-6 Spinal Cord Injury, despite his injury and learning a new way of life Tyler returned to ATU in the fall of 2015 and went on to complete his degree. Tyler shared stories about his spinal cord injury, recovery time at Craig Rehabilitation Hospital, an internship in Reno, NV, and playing for the High Five Quad Rugby team, and how life has continued to progress for him post-graduation. Tyler expressed his interest in outdoor activities before his injury and how he has been able to return to these activities post-injury. A special thanks to Tyler for bringing his trailer and Action Trackchair so the students could experience the Trackchair firsthand. Our students are so lucky to have such inspirational alumni!👏
