Ask yourself: Against the odds, are you dreaming big enough?    Nihilism is for the lazy. It takes courage and strength to open our minds and dream of a better future for all.    I once again find myself in Israel during a historic moment. A peace deal?? After two bloody years?! I am so grateful to have witnessed the miracle of a peace deal going into effect in real time.    Yet, the weight of this moment in history is heavy:  • there is an abundance of trauma  • the horrors of war  • the urgency to rebuild  • the need for compassion  • the daunting process of healing  • the moral responsibility to hope  • the delicate promise of peace    But I keep asking myself:    How is coexistence actually possible from the people’s perspectives after psychological trauma and too much bloodshed?    In 2016, I joined the communications team of Shimon Peres in preparation to launch the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation.  So much time has passed that I almost forgot that one of my “fun facts” was getting a world leader in his 90s to join SnapChat.   I had the privilege and honor of a lifetime of working under the Statesman, Ninth President of the State of Israel, Prime Minister, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, a man of action and vision, before his passing.    By using technology and innovation to build peace and coexistence, Peres dreamed of building a safe space for thousands of Arabs and Jews, Israelis and Palestinians, to innovate together.    Nine years after the big launch, I finally got to see the center I helped publicize with my own eyes. Wow.  The future really does belong to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.   As Peres once said, “Making peace is not a simple endeavor. It is a constant struggle. But its complexity should not overshadow its purpose.”    Folks, I don’t know what tomorrow will bring or what new horrors will broadcast on our newsfeeds. I know that we all continue to be face with unprecedented challenges that call upon us to find innovative solutions. So… If something is important to you, pursue it. Let this be your reminder that there has never been a better time to dream bigger 🩵
