In high school and college I took courses in photography. It was long ago. We developed film in dark rooms and printed it ourselves and the rooms had a wonderful smell and I think what I really liked was being in the environment of the dark room, more than I liked shooting. I was actually a lazy and timid photographer -- daunted by lights and apertures and anything that required a whole lot of close attention to detail. I did better when I tried to make things out of words, and even better when I was not documenting or filtering reality, but making stuff up. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I do still love a black and white photograph.
