Five years ago, RAMSA staff started volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. Earlier this month, we spent the day clearing debris and overgrowth at a site in Queens as part of Habitat’s Net Zero project which will transform 13 abandoned properties into affordable single- and multi-family houses for New York families. The project aims to combat three significant challenges in New York City: low homeownership rate, racial housing inequity, and building decarbonization.
