Of all the shady, brazen, intentionally misleading sales tactics! Let me tell you, if 20-year-old Jeremy had spent ANY money to buy this CD, he’d’ve been sooooo pissed. Wow. . (To be clear, 44-year-old Jeremy finds it absolutely hilarious in the best way possible ... the SHADE!!!). . This, theater friends, is a CD that was supposedly “Inspired by the West End play, ‘Master Class.’” (1997) . The brilliant part? This CD has absolutely NOTHING to do with #PattiLuPone. Nothing. Except for the nice photo that they slapped on the cover, to get unsuspecting young British theater geeks to buy it. THAT'S IT. . The tracks on the disc? Maria Callas. The liner notes? All Maria Callas. The accompanying photos in the liner notes? Maria Callas. . Kids — it’s 100% a Maria Callas CD. 🙄 . Okay, but wait ... at the very least, can’t we all agree that “Master Class” was literally inspired by Maria Callas? So, how on earth does a play inspired by Maria Callas inspire a CD of Callas’ own recordings? Isn’t that twisted? . I can’t stand it. So good!
