🍄 TOXIC MUSHROOMS 🍄 - PART 1 - One of the first things my old man said to me when we started learning about foraging mushrooms is “if you learn all the ones that will kill you, or make you sick, you can eat whatever mushrooms you like!” This is of course, completely wrong and a very irresponsible thing to tell your child 🤣 (cheers Dad) HOWEVER, I really do think it’s SO important to focus not just on edible mushrooms, but on toxic ones too! Foraging isn’t just about finding food, it’s about forming a connection with nature and building your knowledge! Knowing what mushrooms to avoid and what effects they might have if ingested will make you a much more confident forager! So HERE YA GO! I hope I haven’t put anyone off mushroom hunting?! We’ll do edibles next! 🤣 ALSO as I was writing up the notes for this one, I realised that a lot of the mushroom anatomy terms like ‘skirt’ and ‘volva’ (YEP THATS RIGHT PEOPLE 😉) might be confusing to some?
