All proceeds directly support NBK Parks’ work to program and maintain parks and open spaces in Williamsburg and Greenpoint, like McGolrick Park. 2022 was a big year for McGolrick! In recent months, NBK Parks has been assisting a group of community-minded Greenpointers who banded together to revive Friends of McGolrick Park (@mcgolrickpark) — a volunteer group originally founded in 2014 that’s dedicated to stewarding and celebrating this neighborhood gem 💎 Also in 2022, NYC Parks’ (@nycparks) began construction to improve McGolrick’s pathways – which are now halfway complete! The funding for this project was secured thanks to the ongoing advocacy of McGolrick Park’s community. The park will look especially beautiful come spring 2023 thanks to the Friends Group’s stewardship activities this past year (like daffodil plantings 🌼) in partnership with NBK Parks and NYC Parks. Another 2022 highlight at McGolrick was the screening of French children’s film ‘Eleanor’s Secret’ on a magical summer evening in the park. The movie was presented by Films on the Green (@filmsonthegreen) in partnership with NBK Parks, CM Lincoln Restler (@lincolnforcouncil), PS110, and PS110 PTA (@ps110pta)! And a final 2022 shout-out at McGolrick must go to the wonderful volunteer group supporting the dog run at the park, @mcgolrickdogs. NBK Parks is proud to have helped them to keep the dog run well-maintained by providing fresh ground cover and wind screens to contain it.
