The Morning After Old Fashioned ☕️

2 oz. bacon fat–washed @monkeyshoulder scotch whisky
1/2 oz. coffee liqueur (the non-creamy kind–we used Cayman Reef)
1/4 oz. apple cider syrup
2 dashes orange bitters
2 dashes black walnut bitters
Expressed orange peel + pinch of cinnamon, to garnish
Pop an old fashioned glass in the freezer. Add your cocktail ingredients to a mixing glass, add ice and stir until chilled (about 15 seconds). Pour over a large ice cube, garnish and serve.
Apple Cider Syrup 🍎
1 cup apple cider
1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar, packed
3 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
2 allspice berries
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Add all ingredients to a saucepan (minus the vanilla), stir and bring to a boil. Reduce to low heat and let simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla. Let cool and strain and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
