I’ve been feeling pretty horrible about dance music recently. I always seem to find myself in this spot when I see great artists making weird choices, or when I get to peek behind the veil and realise that there’s all this disingenuous stuff happening behind the scenes. It always leaves me with this disillusionment with dance music where I really struggle to derive any meaning from it. There is some amazing stuff going on, some awesome, genuine people, and honestly I am eternally grateful for the situation that I’m in. I just go through these phases of feeling exhausted by the ‘industry’ side of things. ⁣ ⁣ I’ve pretty much been exclusively listening to all this 60s & 70s psychedelic stuff for the past couple of months. It has a purity and naivety that I feel like I’ve been missing listening to new electronic stuff. ⁣ ⁣ My final Rinse FM show of the summer residency is a collection of those tunes I’ve been listening to to help me clear my head. All made between 1964-1981.
