Went as a body positive barbie for the @gqindia best dressed awards celebrating those on the best dresses list of 22 and I have the honour of being on it ✨ Body positive barbie because I’ve thought so much before wearing clothes for YEARS. It was honestly traumatic to get ready because I felt everything looked bad on me, enough of my stomach was not covered, enough of my arms were not covered, I felt disgusted with the body that was given to me. All I wanted to do was hide it. Keep it in the dark. Can cut to now where I only want to celebrate the body that’s given me so much. Im not going to allow myself or anyone make me hide it ever again. Im going to wear the clothes I want - always. When I’m fit, when im not - because I should be able to celebrate my body at all times. Not just when it’s appealing physically to the world. And I wanted to mirror that - but make it barbie because concepts like barbie’s have added to so much insecurities and self hate. Just because of the lack of res presentation and awareness, imagine if they showed all body types, all sizes, all colours - we’d all feel seen. So yes, I did this for baby rosh who has won this horrible battle of self hate and come out loving herself. I did this for the lack of representation of body types and it’s changes. I did this for the shame we’ve been made to feel for our bodies at all times and give it a big fuck you. I wish I had a body positive barbie growing up 💗🥹 PS: @akashaonabeat i need a full version stat ma’am 🥵💋 Video by @humorouslyakshay Makeup and styling by me Wearing @doh_tak_keh & @labelankitajain Shoes @hogwash.in Wig purchased from @milly_n Lenses @ttdeye #bodypositivity #selflove #barbie
