Rev Dr. Gwendolyn E. Boyd is an engineer and is described as a dynamic and relevant leader, a prolific motivational speaker, a powerful preacher and a prominent advocate for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education. She received a full fellowship to pursue graduate studies at Yale University where she was the first African American female to earn a M. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from this Ivy League institution. In 2000, Rev. Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd was elected to serve as the 22nd National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Soror Boyd is a nationally recognized champion of education, especially as it relates to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) disciplines. In March 2009, Boyd was nominated by President Barack Obama and she received U.S. Senate confirmation to serve as a trustee to the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation.
Sydnee Ruff is an engineer with a passion for improving the quality of life of others through innovative formulation technologies and increasing diversity in the STEM field through educational outreach and mentorship of underrepresented youth. She earned a master of science degree in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in Product Development. She is currently an associate scientist at Proctor & Gamble (P&G) in the PG Ventures department. In this role, Sydnee lends her formulation and technical expertise to grow niche start-up brands incubated in PG Ventures and is currently on a brand that is targeted towards consumers living with compromised skin conditions (eczema and psoriasis).
