Great News! 👏👏 Today the Omnibus Bill passed Congress. Included in the Bill was permanent language blocking the sale of lost and stolen dogs and cats to scientific research by Class B dealers. LCA worked with a lobbyist to ensure the language was added permanently. LCA was founded on the issue of vivisection and has been investigating Class B dealers since 1988. In 2006, Dealing Dogs, an HBO documentary, was released. The documentary followed a whistleblower working for LCA as he worked for a notorious Class B dealer who sold lost and stolen dogs to labs. The investigation exposed horrendous animal abuse, including an elaborate pet theft ring, neglected dogs left to languish in kennel cages who died from neglect, and dogs being shot in the head.
