When I got my copy of Diasporican in the mail, I immediately looked for this shot. When I asked @eatgordaeat my question I ask during every cookbook, “what’s the vibe here? What’s going on? Who is at the table?” She said, “this is the typical breakfast. The table is always full.” I saw how much this little moment meant, and the added sprinkle of her vintage Puerto Rican pottery (a true rarity) was perfect with the vintage tile surface. ______ I couldn’t help but to think of mis suegros. The table is always packed. Breakfast is always epic AF and nothing lasts more than a few minutes. This was so fun to recreate. ______ Also this Mallorca recipe is amazing. It comes together quickly and the bread is pillowy soft but dense enough to cut for sandwiches or dunking into your favorite hot beverage.
