Today, the first track I’ve ever composed, written and produced, “I Wish You Joy,” officially released as part of MXTX—a compilation album featuring work by 13 other producers and DJs from Austin and Mexico City. 🦋 To celebrate the global premiere, it will also be performed live alongside the rest of the album by a mixed chamber ensemble (!!!) on April 16 at @moodyamphitheater during @fuseboxfestival. I wrote I Wish You Joy like one of my grandmother’s lucid, nighttime prayers, with lipsticked whispers and the smell of potpourri on the nightstand. It’s a practice in self-soothing, appreciating the mundane whimsy of our lives and finding the hope to sing lullabies—to ourselves and to each other. So, sincerely, thank you. It’s been a sweet one.
