Had one of my favourite interviews ever chatting with @_yushy on @daytimers_uk @reprezentradio show yesterday 💖 Not only were we chatting with one of our favourite photographers, and people - but also our friend, and that made this one extra special 🥰 Hearing the way Yushy talked about his art, how he thought about photos and archiving, and just experiencing life beyond the lens hit us all deeply 😭 Discussing the idea of how your favourite photo is the one you don't capture and how multi-faceted that idea can be across artforms, but also as a way to think about how you experience life is something I've thought about since last night 💭 As friends, we've chatted about a whole range of things, including his search for a goth girl to wife up 🔎 (his DMs are open!) But interviews like these, whether on radio, tv, youtube etc., provide a platform to openly explore avenues and discussions that you've never had before, even with someone you're already friends with🧭They also help you realise things that you've maybe never thought before, processed, or connected the dots on - and that goes equally for the artist and the interview and I love that dynamic ❤️ I know everyone within the Daytimers team is incredibly grateful to have a platform like Reprezent, and this kind of interview and exploration is something I've loved doing since student radio 📻 It really gives you an opportunity to learn about another person, but also eachother and yourself. Radio and interviews are outwardly facing, and at the same time, incredibly introspective too 🔁 I have so much love for Yushy! I'm always in awe of the moments he's captured, the risks he's taken in pursuit of something he loves, and the historically important archival work he's done. That boy is always on the run 🏃🏾, and I can't wait to see all the bits he does in the future Make sure you check out his work, and his photography books too !!️
