December’s must-try cheeses from the conveyor belt of dreams. If you're stopping by for some festive fuelling on delicious British and Irish cheese, make sure you give these ones a go. Let us know your faves in the comments? 1. Ricotta with Crispy Chilli Oil This one caused a bit of a stir on the belt: fresh @lalatteriauk ricotta, whipped with lemon juice and olive oil, then topped with crispy chilli oil. It’s a little spicy, very moreish, and the perfect winter warmer. 2. Coolea with Stewed Pineapple Everyone’s favourite Irish gouda returns to the belt @cooleacheese. This is one of my top-five cheeses of all time, so that’s saying something. It’s joined on the belt by stewed pineapple to bring out all those tropical flavours in the cheese. 3. Isle of Mull Cheddar with Oatcake and Whisky Marmalade Shout-out to our friends at @mellischeeseltd for this one — they’ve just opened a fantastic new shop in Crouch End. This is a celebration of all things Scottish, and what could be more comforting in December than whisky? Did you know @isle_of_mull_cheese feed their cows on the spent grain from whisky making? That’s why this cheddar tastes so great. 4. Moreton with Cranberry & Port Chutney @kingstonedairy do it again. This incredible tomme-style cheese is paired with the most autumnal of accompaniments — Cranberry and Port just screams CHRISTMAS! Not unlike our next cheese… 5. Stilton with Kimchi Could we do a December round-up without including @cropwellbishopcreamery Stilton? The answer is, of course, no! Do you know why we eat Stilton at Christmas? It’s because the cheeses ready at this time of year are made with late-summer milk, which is the most nutritious, resulting in the best-tasting Stilton of the whole year. We hope to see you in Camden or Seven Dials this month.
