29 . Since it is my born day I thought I would reintroduce myself again. . Hello Kin, Just wanted to pop in and show my glowing/tired face. To all my new followers welcome. My name is Irene Antonia Diane Reece. I’m a contemporary artist and visual activist. I’m a bruja from the south that practices intersectionality feminism and call out the racists in my life. My work consists of photographic works, appropriated films, usage of text, and found objects. The concepts are to create an insight towards issues that revolve around memory, racial identity, African diaspora, social injustice, family histories, mental and community health issues. My work is made to be impactful for the communities that I represent. I represent my Black communities. My motives are to push others to be critical of art, eliminate the canon, give different forms of representation, hold spaces accountable, appreciate the archives, and uplift others through my work. This year has been the busiest year to date which isn’t a compliment for me I strive to rest and be whole. However there’s more to come and I can’t wait to show you all.
