I can’t believe I got to visit Villa E-1027, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France, the Irish designer Eileen Gray’s first architectural creation, which she worked on with her partner at the time, the French editor Jean Badovici. (And where, a few feet away, Le Corbusier built a house of his own: a tiny log cabin overlooking the sea in which he’d later drown.)
