Locking out your elbows at the bottom end and pulling way up and past the top isn’t going to increase lat gains. Imagine you’re doing a lat pulldown. You wouldn’t pull the bar down to your stomach would you? Same principle here. Chin ups are a completely different exercise whereby the higher we can lift ourselves up, the better.
