On June 17th, two weeks ago today, we found ourselves between the cornfields in Bakersfield where Newmon and I said goodbye to each other. I always wondered when and where and how tf I was going to handle it. And this is it. I thanked her for everything she has been and done for me over these 15 years. We took one more ride the day before she passed. Just me, my hound dog — nowhere to be. Newmon was the most constant ground in my life and I just have to thank everyone one more time who has ever cared for her, cleaned up after her, lifted her up over a fence, snook her in hotel rooms, had patience with her, all of it. There’s too much. Because to love her has been to love me and I feel it at my core. I have a lot more memories and things I feel like I want to say. I know she touched a lot of peoples lives so it’ll be great to honor her and bring us together. We’ll be hosting a celebration of her life very soon.
