Places Iโve Felt Comfortable Traveling as a Black Woman
Honduras ๐ญ๐ณ
~ Everyone was telling me itโs so dangerous but when I went there all I saw were bilingual black people and friendly locals. Everyone thanked us for visiting their country and several locals said they wished more black people would visit .
Thailand ๐น๐ญ
~ My favorite country to travel. Iโve never walked into a room and been met with so many smiles than in Thailand. I always felt like the locals were happy to see me. Maybe they just wanted my money idk ๐
.
Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ
~ One of the worlds safest countries. Locals were friends and believe it or not, I actually met black people who lived there and they loved it! I had some of my most memorable travel experiences there. Including busting my ass a few times ๐.
United Kingdom ๐ฌ๐ง
~ The country Iโve probably been to the most. They took so much of my money ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ. Iโve always had a good time there and the Brits love me so I love them back. London in particular just seemed like a place thatโs a big melting pot with people from all over.
Mexico ๐ฒ๐ฝ
~ Do I really need to explain this one? I did move there for a few months this summer and plan to go back. Everyone is always so friendly even though I need to learn some more Spanish ๐. I see people who look like me all of the time and it makes me feel like Iโm in the right place.
Iโd recommend these countries to all of my black travelers and I have had several black travel friends who have traveled to these countries solo with no issues.
Have you been to any of these countries? What was your experience?
