5 years of conflict in Mozambique’s🇲🇿 Cabo Delgado Five years of unpredictability and a lack of perspective of a stable future have profound consequences for people’s mental health. Most people have been displaced more than once and continue to live in constant fear of experiencing violence. Many people have witnessed murder and lost contact with relatives who still don’t know their whereabouts. Although some people have returned to their places of origin, all these experiences are still latent and have a very negative effect on the communities and perpetuate suffering. Acute stress and anxiety due to uncertainty, lack of perspective, and grief are the main reasons for mental health consultations in MSF activities in the province.
