Welcome to The Gentle Barn! Founded in 1999, we've rescued, healed, and protected hundreds of cows, pigs, chickens, donkeys, horses, turkeys, ducks, peacocks, and more. All of our animals get fresh veggies, bedtime cookies, regular vet checkups, and innovative healing modalities like massage and acupuncture therapy for our senior animals. As we've watched them heal with the benefits of quality food, love, and care, we've seen them turn around and heal the hearts of countless people with the same stories of trauma and resilience. What started in our founder Ellie's half-acre backyard has evolved into three sanctuary locations (California, Tennessee, and Missouri) and 200 animals saved from the darkest and scariest places.
