Happy Monday lovies 🌿 Tips for crater free puffy leaves! 1) ICING CONSISTENCY: Use the thickest possible consistency that still smoothes out.. thicker than your typical flood but thinner than a writing consistency 2) I love to pipe on a base that has just crusted over. You have to work carefully so your finger doesn’t damage that top layer when you move it (speaking from experience 🥴) but I rarely get a crater when the bottom layer isn’t fully dry just yet. 3) Good air circulation (have that ceiling fan on!) you don’t want soooo much air flow that it ripples the icing but the faster that icing dries, the better! You can always invest in a dehydrator, but it is absolutely NOT necessary. I’ve never had one & im doing just fine! Dehydrators dry your icing typically within 10-15 minutes, create a shiny icing surface, & allow you to move on to the next step quicker than air drying would take you. You still need to let your icing dry fully overnight but they can help speed up the decorating process for sure! Hope this helps & I hope you are all hanging in there!
