My dad, @joe_woodhouse and my mama on our wedding day nearly five years ago. Today I finally got to talk to my dad. He is in Mykolayiv region with his sister and nephew. Finally - because their electricity is off most of the time. It broke my heart seeing him, with his wooly hat inside the house. He is ok, and it was his choice to go back. He is busy, he already registered a volunteer organisation and has been fund-raising (from friends mainly for now), and taking supplies to the front line in Kherson. He says he is ok, but the wooly hat got me. I just don’t inderstand how we were there in the restaurant on our wedding day and now he is in Ukraine without basic things like electricity and water. I have been doing so much better psychologically. Last night was very special making Christmas presents for the family with Sash and Asya in the evening, listening to Christmas playlists...but today as we say in Ukrainian “nakrylo” - literally - “it covered me”, it really hit me. #накрило
