So, one last post about banks and where your money is going. Most that have followed me for a long time, know that I grew up in Santa Cruz and have surfed most of my life. The ocean is as important to me as the mountains, though I don’t talk about that aspect as much on here since people follow me for skiing, not mediocre surfing. But for me, the oceans are as threatened right now as snowy mountains are. From insane plastic pollution that warrants in-between surf session trash pick ups to Northern California kelp forests that have decreased in size up to by 95% from 2008-2019, the oceans are in need of repair. Organizations like @sustainsurf are being supported by @bankofthewest through their @1percentftp Checking account, which supports their @sea.trees program to regrow insanely important kelp forests. Utilizing art to hit the message home, Bank of the West commissioned @andreasamadorarts to make a disappearing billboard to highlight the cause.
