ActiveFX CO2 Laser Resurfacing is intense but the point is to stimulate your body to make more collagen, giving an overall more youthful appearance - from the inside out! HEALING This was my second time getting this done. The first time was 2.5 years ago. I knew what to expect but the healing process was still really intense. I didn’t leave the house for five days and was off work for six days. Days 3-4 when the skin sloughs off are the worst and then things improve really quickly. PAIN For the procesure you get topical numbing, numbing shots (lidocaine), laughing gas, and there is also the option for Ativan (I skipped this). I think the numbing shots were the worst part. I’d give it a 7/10. The healing process is NOT PAINFUL at all despite how it looks. RESULTS I use this treatment for maintenance/anti-aging so the goal is to maintain my good skin and not necessarily have a dramatic before and after to show you. It takes 6-9 months for your body to build new collagen and have max results. Last time I noticed my neck wrinkles went away, my marionette lines softened a lot, and my skin overall felt more plump. If you have deep wrinkles this is also very effective for softening them. Right now in the immediate after period my pores are invisible and my skin looks fresh and shiny - like the last clip. For me this is a non-surgical way to maintain youthful skin and worth needing to take a week off of work every few years!
