I look back at this photo and can’t believe it’s been a year since my skin looked like this. It impacted my everyday, it stopped me from doing so many things and i just wanted to hide 😔 I still forget sometimes now that it no longer looks like that! I can’t pinpoint one singular thing that helped cure my acne, rather, it’s been a combination of things that I’m pretty militant with but it’s worth it... 1 - I got prescribed an acne gel called Duac. I noticed a difference within a matter of weeks. Any spots that popped up were gone within a day or 2 🥳 which was great but it didn’t actually stop the root cause... 2 - I started drinking filtered water ONLY (I genuinely believe this was a game changer). I did a fair bit of research into the chemicals added to tap water and it scared me enough to install a water filter in the flat. 3 - I stopped trying new face creams and lotions and stripped it back...now I just cleanse and use a natural moisturiser (@weledauk skin food). 4 - Vitamin D ☀️ either the supplement or the real thing. My skin got considerably better when I was in Dubai and when I’m back in the UK, I supplement it (this really helps my eczema too btw). 5 - I cut back on alcohol! Again a game changer, and I do notice after even just a couple of drinks it can flare up a little in the following days. 6 - I looked into my gut health - I started taking a probiotic @symprove, I reduced my refined sugar intake and increased fermented foods like kefir. 7 - I stopped using foundation and I either just apply a bronzer (@chanel.beauty) or a BB cream (@narsissist). 8 - Finally, I reduced my stress - I finally ended a ‘situationship’, I stopped working into the late hours of the night and I started to explore ways to ease my anxiety.
